Here's a definition of a tale filled with nothing but delight and charm. Jenna Fischer and Chris Messina capture their characters perfectly. There is nothing truly complex about this story, but it does flow a bit outside the normal formula of story-telling for this genre. (Actually, I have no idea what the hell that means.) Both are characters getting older, floundering around their lives, trying to figure out what they're supposed to be doing, but they find meaning and purpose in each other. The magic comes in the form of the giant mechanical man, a character Chris Messina creates as a street performer. A tale for any struggling artist, which I think we all have inside. But truly, there is a special, subtle magic in this film I absolutely adored.
