In honor of pride month (because we all need to learn to love each other, damnit!) I thought it would be appropriate to mention some same sex romances. I admit I have not seen anything in my film travels as beautiful as Bright Star, but Portrait of a Lady on Fire is as close as it gets. I think I'm a sucker for the depth, profundity, emotional toll, and beauty of these kinds of films, and Portrait of a Lady on Fire is nothing short of exquisite. I love a movie that leaves me stunned, in tears, and in awe - the kind of movie that forces you to take a long walk afterwards, so you can let it sink in and ponder. It is exaclty that kind of film. Again, I cannot recommend it enough, and yes, it is that beautiful!
